Kurt Max – Lets’ Rock Art Exhibition at The Exchange – North Shields England

Launch Event Thursday 2nd March, 7.30pm – Open to the public and free

Exhibition runs from Thursday 2nd March to Wednesday 2nd April

Working mainly in charcoal, watercolour, pen and ink as well as digital editing, Kurt’s work is truly rock and roll.  “Let’s Rock” features dazzling and poignant portraits of many of the 20th century’s most provocative and compelling musical geniuses.  From Folk to Soul and Classic Rock to even Hard Rock we find them all presented with Kurt’s unique eye for detail and fluid energy.

Kurt is donating 10% of sales from each artwork sold to North Tyneside Art Studio (NTAS), a charity which provides a safe and supportive environment where people can discover how creativity can support their mental health and personal recovery.

Special guests will be in attendance including Dr. Colin Cameron.  Colin is an internationally renowned “Stuckist” artist from North Tyneside and in 2021 he had 2 of his painting featured in the Royal Academy of Art in London. They were both purchased on the first day of the exhibition. Colin has also had his own featured exhibition at The Exchange. September 2022 saw the launch of The Colin Cameron Gallery at Sweet Dreams, a sweet shop in Whitley Bay owned by Adrian Lee (who we are proud to have as MC/Master of Ceremonies at this launch event).

The launch will be accompanied by Jonny Boyle’s Voodoo Gumbo. Jonny rarely makes live appearances in the North Shields area so this is a special treat.  Jonny’s band is able to combine striking and soulful vocals, virtuoso musicianship with energetic and engaging showmanship.   Jonny Boyle’s Voodoo Gumbo present a compelling and authentic blend of the best of 1950-60 American and European rock.  Not to be missed.  The exhibition is titled “Let’s Rock” so it’s only fitting to provide a wonderful rock performance at the launch party.
